After three busy months we're back in action! We have added 3 new dates to the gigs page.
We can already tell you that we're quite busy with the next release (yes, we know, you have already been waiting way too long for this ;-) ). There's no date available yet, but you'll get an update about that in the next weeks.
We're also featured on the new compilation cd of Metal Message. This fifth volume also features bands like Natan & Waylander.

Big Setbacks
Normally Vinternatt was to enter "Boets Studio" tomorrow to record 7 songs. A few days ago we received message that the studio was having a large technical breakdown, us having to wait until February (!) to record in that studio. This is not the first setback we have encountered in the last few months. We were looking forward to record our new material for more than a year now so this is a big setback for us.
We are currently very busy trying to find a solution. In the mean while, we have been confirmed for some cool new performances:

Big update!
Studio recordings
Finally!!
Vinternatt has confirmed the recording & mixing of the next album at Boets Studio, the same studio where our preproduction took place. Taking place from the 11th 'till 26th of July, Mr. Boets will record & mix 7 fresh songs for Vinternatt. After a huge amount of annoying problems & a lot of delays we are finally ready to enter the studio. The release will be totally self-financed but will be promoted on a much larger scale than Yggdrasil.
Here are some of the (working) titles of the songs:

Mastering is still to be decided & artwork & album title will probably be revealed somewhere around begin of august. We are still looking for a label to release the album if possible! Don't hesitate to contact us!
PS: In contrary to what is reported earlier on this website and our myspace, we will not record in Midas Studios. This is because of these "annoying setbacks" and endless little problems we encounter on the way of releasing this next album. We are impatiently waiting to bring our new songs to the wide world! Just a little more patience.
Photoshoot + Mindview Magazine
Last sunday 18th of May, we had a photoshoot for the promotion of the next release and for promotion in Mindview Magazine! We can't give you photo's yet but the pictures were shot again in "De Liereman".
Compilation CD
Vinternatt brings you another release to still the hunger for the upcoming album. We present to you the Iron Age CompilationCD featuring a ton of promising european folk/pagan bands. The full band list will be announced soon but we can assure you that both Nemean (B) en Natan (B) are on the compilation CD as well.

The release date for this compilationCD will be 02 June 2008. We cannot tell you much more for now but more official info about price, line-up etc soon...

Label: Vinternatt is proud to announce that we will sign with label & Belgian metal support organisation Sandstorm (www). We've had contact with them for a long time now but we are only now able to announce this. This will not only have a great impact on promotion & the amount of shows that we'll be able to do but also allow us to record te next CD.
Preproduction: This friday january 25th we will start recording the drums for the preproduction of our upcoming album. The recordings will take place in Tielrode, close to St.Niklaas and will be done by Yannick Boets.Who knows we might give you a teaser for the upcoming real recordings. And this brings us to:
The studio: We're going the record the next release in Midas Studios (www). We're really psyched & thrilled and are looking forward to collaborating with Tony! Exact dates are still pending but expect dates to be around april/may. That would set the releasedate somewhere around end of May!

Vinternatt hits the studio + new CD!
Vinternatt will once again hit the studio. Not once, but twice in the coming months! First step will be preproduction in January-February. We want nothing to stand in the way of delivering a killer release so this should help us to get rid of the last problems and to perfect our songs.
After that we will enter another studio (tba) in april to record our next release. We will reveal the artwork, title & much more when the time comes. This album will be released through the label Sandstorm. (website) They are fantastic guys who do great things for the belgian metal scene.
Oh, and don't forget: Vinternatt could be preforming on Paganfest (4th of april '08) in Hof Ter Loo, opening for Eluveitie, Tyr, Moonsorrow, Korpiklaani & Ensiferum. The only thing we need is your vote!! vote here

Vinternatt could be preforming on Paganfest (04th of april '08) in Hof Ter Loo, opening for Eluveitie, Tyr, Moonsorrow, Korpiklaani & Ensiferum.Vinternatt entered the support compo for Paganfest. This is a festival where large folkmetal bands preform like Ensiferum, Korpiklaani, Eluveitie etc.
There is a competition that local bands can enter, possibly ending sharing the stage with these bands. We would love to do this, hence it being bands (& venue) we look up to and onliest thing we need is a little help from our friends! :)
If you'd like to see Vinternatt on Paganfest in Hof Ter Loo and have just a minute to spare: Only thing you need is an emailadress and 1 minute of time :)

Hunting season is open!:
In the last few days we've confirmed quite some shows, crossing entire Belgium. We are still on the search for a lot of shows in the spring of 2008, don't hesitate to contact us! We would also want to thank Sandstorm vzw for the wonderful show they presented us in Kuurne. Top bands, Top organisation!

Studio-news: We've already confirmed the recording of 3 songs in the nearby future. You can see this as a sort of "pre-production recording" for a latter release somewhere Q1-2008.
It's not sure yet whether we'll release these recordings or not, this will depend on the quality. We're all really psyched to be able to finally record new songs. They do differ from our previous release "Yggdrasil", but think of it as "bigger, badder & better". Curious yet? We are for sure!
More recording news: Guitar player Koen recently did some session recordings for the solo-project "Zaphayael". You can listen to some samples here.
We'll also be able to anounce some pretty cool news at the end of the month, but we have to keep quiet untill then.

We also had a nice meeting with Mathias from Sandstorm. We'll keep you posted about this, should be very nice.

The Frontline gig was a blast! We've played a great gig and the audience enjoyed it! The other two bands were doing great as well. Up to our next gigs:

Last nights' gig in PandDemonium, Antwerp was a fun gig with the guys (and girl) of Angeli di Pietra. The Audience was great, the place was nice, it was realy a great evening.
Too bad we had some minor "Raping Light ;)" problems, but after all, the gig was kinda good. The new songs were appreciated by many, so expect some more blasting action at the coming gigs!
One minor point at the end of this evening: we're completely sold out.
The last copy of Yggdrasil was bought by another folk minded person, The singer of Lemuria (Split-up) and bass player of Suhrim, Niklaas.
At the moment orders of the CDemo are not possible anymore. Somewhere this year we'll head back to studio's to record another cd with the new line-up!
Hopefully until next saturday at the Frontline in Gent together with Requiem and Creature!

We've added three gigs on the gigs page. As you can see, the coming shows are all over the country so don't hesitate to come and take a look!
Later on this year we will play some more gigs, but those are still tba. Expect a lot of new songmaterial on the gigs to come as we are working hard on new material.

Updates:
We've had a lot of response on the drummer position. We found a person suitable for our music, and above all: he's a good drummer!
So it's now official, our new drummer is Jelle Kenis. We've already been working hard with the new line-up and new songs are coming up!
The Biebob gig is getting close (2 weeks) and you'll get some new songs on this gig. In the beginning of 2007 we'll do some more gigs in the wide area of Antwerp, So come check us out! Soon there will be more info about those gigs.

Some news from the front:
First of all, thanks for all the comments we get about our CDemo! We're almost out of stock, so if you want a copy of it, you've got to be fast!
We also have a new show confirmed, we will play at the Biebob Club on december 15th together with Slechtvalk, Eluveitie and Månegarm!
We also have a negative newsflash. Our drummer decided to stop with the band, for personal reasons. We all wish him luck in his future music career!
At this moment we are looking for a new drummer, so don't hesitate to contact us!

First of all, many thanks for the support on the nokfest gig! We hope you enjoyed as much as we did!! As you can see, we have put up a little webhole. This will be updated with information but is of course still under "anal tentation by our webmaster Philip".
Nokfest (02/09/06) was our release party so you can now order the CDemo and still some old T-shirts (newly designed ones are coming!) by surfin' to the Merch-section.

A couple of days ago, we finally got to see a "pre-press" of our artwork. It rocked!! We decided it would be more than enough to have the artwork pressed for 100 demo's.
We expect the demo and the official website www.vinternatt.be to be ready by 1 september.
We also decided to make the Nokfest gig (02/09/06) our "CDemo-release party", together with fellow metallers Pulverize who are also presenting their new CDemo "Obscure depths of sufferance". Check it out!
We'll be giving the best out of ourselves INCLUDING the new (for now still temporary) bassplayer Jef Verhoeven. That show won't be his first with us, that honour is served for this saturday 26/08 @ Geitenblak Vosselaar but anyways we'll be full-throttled and ready to go!
